Charlie Cummings is the President/CEO and majority owner of Cummings Construction. With over 30 years of construction related experience, he brings the knowledge, leadership and passion necessary to fuel the continued growth, development and success of the business.

In his youth, working the summer months for his father’s construction company, Cummings was indoctrinated early to the mental and physical effort required to be successful in the business. After completion of his undergraduate studies, Cummings worked for Lozier Engineers in Rochester, NY. He then moved on to pursue a career in Corporate Facilities and Construction Project Management at Xerox Corporation. Cummings then used his acquired knowledge and experience to re-enter the mainstream Construction Industry and launch Cummings Construction.

Charlie earned his BS degree in Mathematics from Roberts Wesleyan College in North Chili, NY and a BS degree in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. After spending a few years in Corporate America, he went back to school to obtain his MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.

He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers and is Co-Chairman of the Upstate NY Minority Supplier Development Council’s Construction Industry Group. He is also a member of the Flower City Habitat for Humanity Construction Advisory Committee

While at Xerox, Cummings participated in the numerous Quality/Lean Manufacturing initiatives and was ultimately trained as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Cummings received accreditation from the US Green Building Council as a LEED AP and is a strong supporter of our nation’s green initiatives.
